The Cost of Gender shares the stories of transgender Americans faced with health care discrimination at home, who look to Thailand for better options.
This short documentary was co-produced with Dacia Saenz and published by The Seattle Globalist.
The project began with our community, raising $7,000 through a successful Kickstarter campaign. We travelled to Thailand to gather international perspectives on trans healthcare from transgender activists and world-renown doctors.
The Cost of Gender has screened in Translations Film Festival, Pensacola LGBT Film Festival, Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival, MIX Copenhagen, and the Leeds Queer Film Festival.
